Foraging, complete with tacky cover image

quite proud of how retro/tacky I got that to look!

Been meaning to share this on the vault for a while - the foraging system I use in Dark Avenger. It's not what you'd call an amazing feat of scripting, but there ground work is there with 29 different plants/molds/fungi placeables that can be gathered and harvested for their respective produce, and it's really simple to add more. Figure it'd be useful to someone, as an easy add-in or a starting point for their own system. Click on the image to head to the Vault.

Cool! *Must resist urge to use it before Zork is done*

BTW, great interviews! I enjoyed them much.

Yes, I must admit that you successfully catch that early 80s look. I reminds me of the very widely hated Depeche Mode singel The Meaning of Love :) (
(Which I embarrassingly must admit I liked back then)

Oh yes. As an old elektronika musician. DM is an old favorite. I'm especially found of the industry-social album Construction Time Again and I really like their newer stuff too.

I love the picture that you put up. It would be great to have some pleasant domestic-type music to go with it, such as the music from The Sims game. :D

Hmmm...

Like Ampraphael, I'm super tempted to use this.

I'm a huge fan of "systems". Stuff that behaves like sub-games within a game. Something like this definitely falls into that category.

Besides, herb gathering is a great way to promote area exploration!

Thanks guys. I'd always intended on releasing it, just never got round to it - and yeah, it's simple to use, and an easy way to lure players into a trap in the corner of the map ;)

Ah, this certainly looks like a single from A Broken Frame! I like it a lot. I must say that Construction Time Again is much better though, with Alan Wilder having full influence on the band by then. I love the slow mix of It's Called A Heart, a DM-single from around that time. Depeche Mode was one of my favourite bands back then and it still is.

P.S. Very generous of you, Wyrin! The community will love you for this contribution! And I had a listen to show as well, sort of like a reward after my obsessive mod testing, and what a reward it was! I like how you make one area at a time, a great tip for most kinds of module making, I reckon! :)
